About Lock+Store Chai Chee
We made a bold new green push in 2022 with the tagline “A green and caring tomorrow with self storage”. Under this initiative, we installed solar panels and recycling stations at our flagship Chai Chee facility. In fact, we are the first and only self-storage operator to go onboard the national SGRecycle recycling initiative. There is a paper and textile waste recycling station each at Chai Chee. We also introduced edible gardens at the facility together with SG Gardens to optimise land use and support Singapore’s drive towards food self-sufficiency.

Brian is willing to share his knowledge and experience with the team. The frontline staff are pleased to ask him about problems they encountered, and he helps resolve most of them. He brings a joyful and motivated working environment to the team. Also, he always looking for bringing more opportunities for the company. He suggests a lot of ideas get more sales such as designing promotions and marketing.
He understands and cares about every potential enquiry. Concerning the follow up and teaching the staff how to raise the chance to make the deal. Also, he always provides different ideas to the Country Manager in order to bring more sales and opportunities for the company.
To attract more customers and celebrate the 20 anniversary of The Store House, he discussed and provided various points of view with the Country Manager. Finally, they created the 20th anniversary promotion which successfully attracted over 100 new customers to rent the storage space last year.
Brian came up with the idea of sending customers digital festive greetings over WhatsApp to show our appreciation and to serve as a remarketing initiative. Some customers called to reserve storage space upon receiving the greetings. A customer who contacted us six months before called to reserve a storage unit after receiving our greeting!

Lela was in charge of expansion plans for multiple sites across Singapore, adding new units to existing sites at our Ang Mo Kio, Macpherson, Bukit Merah and Woodlands sites, and setting up greenfield sites at Balestier and Pasir Panjang, all within a calendar year. This allowed L+S to increase our capacity and generate significant sales as existing sites taper towards full capacity.
Lela worked closely with both the marketing department and data team to improve both physical and digital marketing and advertising:
- Targeted flyers and wet tissue distribution at expansion sites – Woodland and Balestier
- Promotion of locker units along with new communication channel – Whatsapp
- Improved physical presence at the site with the usage of signages, stickers of corporate colours

Managing customer’s complaint and needs due to the fault of lift / building vertical transportation. Offering alternative solution to assist customer to transport the goods up to the storage unit.
Colleague - Susan Kong: A water leak incident damaged a customer’s goods. Josephine negotiated with the customer politely and compensated him fairly to achieve a win-win outcome, which left the customer feeling pleased.

Spanning an area of over 8000 sqm, Lock + Store Chai Chee has been operating for more than 10 years. It has 1300 storage units which are widely used by individuals and households for personal and business purposes. The flagship store is open 24/7, offers fully secured access and even provides wine storage. The storage units are either fan-cooled, air-conditioned or climate-controlled, and come in a variety of sizes to fulfil a broad spectrum of demand. Chai Chee is one of the biggest self -storage hubs in the eastern part of Singapore. Customers can take advantage of the free parking and ample loading space.

Energy efficiency program - Using Energy Efficiently and Responsibly
Lock + Store Malaysia and Singapore and The Store House Hong Kong have an energy efficiency program in place that focuses on the responsible use of energy-related resources.
Lock + Store has a set of standard operating procedures that govern the proper use of energy such as electricity in line with the country's self-storage operating bylaws. For instance, in Singapore, their self-storage facilities have been transitioning to sustainable technologies and utilising innovative building materials to reduce cooling demand. Also, most of Lock + Store's facilities are designed to consume super low energy so as to align with green building standards in the respective countries. In Singapore for instance, to reduce cooling demand, standalone facilities such as Chai Chee have been implementing district cooling in greenfield areas by planting more trees and greens within the estate.

Saufi has been working at Lock + Store for over 5 years. He excels at using social media platforms such as Facebook and Instagram and works with influencers to promote the brand and service. He is also very friendly, resourceful, reliable and well-liked by customers.
