StorHub achieve significant milestone: Southeast Asia’s First Self Storage Company to Achieve Green Building Certification Across Multiple Sites

StorHub is thrilled to announce a significant milestone in our green journey: Green Building Certification for seven of our self storage facilities in Singapore. This marks StorHub as the first self-storage company in Southeast Asia to earn this prestigious distinction and now boasts the most LEED-certified space of any self-storage projects in the APAC region. Five of our self storage buildings have been awarded with LEED Gold certification, while the remaining two have achieved LEED Silver certification, evidencing our commitment to environmental sustainability and energy efficiency.

This achievement was made possible through rigorous efforts to meet the demanding standards of LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design), the world's most widely used green building rating system. Aligning with StorHub's robust ESG strategy, LEED certification provides a consistent and globally recognised standard for measuring and improving sustainability performance.

To achieve this, we partnered with green building experts to:

  • Optimise energy consumption: We implemented energy-saving strategies and leveraged digital solutions for smart energy management, resulting in a 16% reduction in energy usage compared to previous years. We anticipate further improvements of at least 10% in the coming year.

  • Reduce environmental impact: We focused on minimizing energy emissions, conserving water, and improving indoor air quality.

  • Waste Reduction: We have implemented comprehensive waste reduction programs across all self storage facilities, diverting up to 10-15% of waste from landfills and actively promoting recycling initiatives.

  • Embrace sustainability: We incorporated innovative features like rooftop gardens, hydroponics, and community engagement initiatives, such as hosting local environmental awareness events.
