The SAFE Programme is an endorsement offered by the Self Storage Association Asia to self storage operators in Hong Kong.

The endorsement means that each single site has been approved by an Authorised Person as compliant, or is en route to becoming compliant, with regulations promulgated by the relevant departments of the Hong Kong SAR Government - in particular the Fire Services Department and Buildings Department.

Self storage operators can apply for Gold, Silver or Bronze certification.

S.A.F.E.迷你倉認證嚴格遵循消防處和屋宇署的相關準則，讓大衆清楚分別安全且合法合規的迷你倉。申請者必須通過獨立而嚴格的獲授權人 ( 認可人士 ) 評估，該申請的個別門店才能獲得金、銀或銅牌認證。這個經由獲授權人批准的認證將作為消費者和企業在選擇門店時有效並可靠的參考。

Application Process

1. Download the basic information form, and send to Lauren at laurenspillers@selfstorageasia.org

2. Sign NDA form with Knight Frank and SSAA and return to Knight Frank.

3. Knight Frank will issue a non-refundable application fee of HK$2,000. The invoice MUST be settled before going to the next step.

4. Receive and provide documents indicated in Checklist I & II.

5. Knight Frank will issue a 2nd invoice for 50% of the required fee minus the application fee (i.e. $2,000).

6. The Inspection Period starts upon settlement of the 2nd invoice.

7. The Final Report be produced by Knight Frank indicating a Pass or recommending remedial action.

8. KF issues final approval of the certification upon settling the final invoice.

9. The SSAA will publicise new successful application case on S.A.F.E website on a quarterly basis. The Website will be updated including when the certification was awarded and when it is up for renewal. The certifications status will be publicly available.
